Bill: Utilitarian Organ laws
Details
Submitted by[?]: Secular Humanist party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2450
Description[?]:
Our current laws assume consent for organ donation unless otherwise stated, which is good. But we believe this is insufficient. WE do not think people should be allowed exemption for illogical semantic reasons like "respect for the dead". We believe it is utterly wrongheaded to allow a person to die, because a potential donor was so selfish as to choose to keep oirgans they have no use for once they are dead. THe dead have no use for organs, and to allow the dead to keep them is wasteful and costs the lives of the living. We believe organ donation should be mandatory upon death. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning organ donations.
Old value:: Unless otherwise stated, consent is assumed.
Current: Organ donation is universal and compulsory.
Proposed: Organ donation is universal and compulsory.

Message | This would violate many peoples' religious and Cultural beliefs. We will oppose this. |
Date | 21:55:07, September 02, 2007 CET | From | Secular Humanist party | To | Debating the Utilitarian Organ laws |
Message | People are not allowed to have religious beliefs. Religion is illegal. Therefore, respecting it, is illogical. Respecting practitioners of an illegal act is a logical fallacy. |

Message | Well it is soon allowed, my proposed bill "Freedom of Religion" will pass... Furthermore I dont get why you call yourself Free Humanity, when you dont allow people to have freedom of their own organs. |
