Bill: Vague Military Improvements Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Totalitarian Capitalist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2451

Description[?]:

The PCP feel that our military is weak, and that our private arms industries are being stifled by our export laws.

Article 1: The military should be allowed to assist the police in all situations. We are not currently in any kind of conflict, and our troops have nothing to do, so we may as well use them to help keep law and order.

Article 2: Currently, we have to approve all arms sales. A better improvement, we feel, is to just allow all exports of conventional arms. This will create revenue for our treasuries and promote growth in that area of industry. Some parties may be concerned that we'd be handing weapons to our rogue nations. While this concern is well founded, if we don't sell the weapons to them, someone else will. Also, if our technology propagates throughout the world - we have the knowledge on how to best defeat it, having developed it ourselves.

Messageactually, isnt 1 already the way you want it then? we currently permit the R&D of them and it seems that that would change it to not permitting R&D, and actually we approve of 3, as also we would become closer allies with nations we sell arms too.

MessageHaving sacked the young counselor who wrote this bill, who clearly had some kind of hidden agenda, we have removed article 1. We thank the Talmorian National Socialist Army for pointing it out.

MessageThe DR does not support Article one, as we feel that we may be arming our enemies against us. However the this doubt is greatly outweighed by article two which this party believes is a step in the right direction of securing our domestic security.
