Bill: Vanuku Senate Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Vanuku Corporate Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2453
Description[?]:
Given that we are a Union of 5 separate sub-national entities, and given that this esteemed body agreed with the VFA proposal to award them the honor of calling themselves a "Republic" instead of something insignificant and commonplace like "state" or "territory," the VFA thus proposes the following: We hereby propose to rename our legislature to the Senate, a body worthy of being governed over by a Secretary General, and a fitting name to a body that governs the Union of Vanuku! Colleagues, vote with the VFA! This bill changes nothing of our party status in the eyes of the voter. This is a vote from the heart. A vote for the future of Vanuku! |

Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller |
