Bill: Allowing for More Democracy
Details
Submitted by[?]: Enlightened Cosmic Brotherhood
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2452
Description[?]:
The DN! is rather disgusted at the recent attempt of a coup to overthrow our legitmate, democratic and completely non-oppressive government in a bid for power. Asking for all parties to back them as head of state so they could propose a cabinet that did not include two important parties and trying to form alliances with a Homophobic Xenophobe? Not their best light. So in response to this we propose that all parties be able to propose cabinets. This worked well for years, until a certain even where 5 Cabinet proposals were made in the same month. Simply because your party is not dictatorial in power does not mean you need to call for a cabinet that allows it so. This bill will allow all parties to propose cabinets as they see fit and allow the democratic process to judge them to be sound or not. We do hope this doesn't replace the FP's recent bid for dictatorship and instead allow for other parties to do the same more easily. But this is the price that comes with Democracy. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The constitutional right and responsibility to propose a cabinet to the legislature.
Old value:: Only the Head of State can propose a cabinet coalition.
Current: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.
Proposed: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.

Message | We didn't sow anything. It was the FP who proposed the bill. |

Message | what is the point of having 5 different cabinet proposals. At the end of the day either the largest party or head of state should propose a cabinet as they have authority to do so. Why have small parties making different cabinets just to get into power. The DN still have the power of cabinet making and FP has none. Again we invited the DN into our cabinet and the FP would again. |

Message | Golly Gee, I can come into YOUR cabinet? Because we all know the FEP, the PSP, the PM, and other parties just plain don't exist. Why allow them into government positions? We need to allow the Facist Homphobes and Nationalists AND NO ONE ELSE into OUR cabinet. |

Message | Ha! Socialists only want to give everyone a go because the norm is for socialist to have the least amount of seats. Governments aren't built with a bunch of tiny parties coming together but of majority parties working to form a coalition. Lets have a cabinet with every single party involved, that will work wont it because everyone shares the same views. You keep working towards your deluded visions of a workers utopia while you send the country into the ground. |

Message | "You keep working towards your deluded visions of a workers utopia while you send the country into the ground." Okie dokie! The PM, the PSP and DN! are such tiny socialist parties with so few seats. We weep and hide in the shadows. Whoever thought that Socialist parties would have power in a Socialist Republic? |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
