Message | Pictures and video are just that, inanimate artistic objects. The law in debate is not about the legality of obtaining profit from various kinds of pornography, or even the legality of producing it, only the legality of viewing it. It should never be illegal to view something. Would this law make rape, whether forceful or statutory, legal? No, it would not. In fact, making such materials legal to view could lead to more sexual deviants being caught, for it they chose to attempt to profit from their activities, they would become easier to track and catch. Those are only some of the practical arguments. From a "moral" standpoint, pictures and videos are not people, they are only depictions of people. No individual is ever exploited merely because a picture was seen or a video watched. Any exploitation that may have occurred was at an earlier time, and is not the subject of this branch of law. |

Message | While the War is Peace party supports pornography we can not accept the legalization of child porn and rape porn. |

Message | Pornography like religion is non-revolutionary tool of the bourgeoisie to distract workers away from their innate desire towards liberation. Like religion it is a non-materialistic opiate that serves no purpose and thus we oppose it. |

Message | The JLC will approve, only because we realize this legislation does not legalize snuff film where participants are unwilling or children who are raped or abused. This proposal only allows the depiction of such by willing actors. All that is happening here is the removal of unnecessary censorship. |

Message | JLC what are you talking about? Your discription describes the current state of affairs. Bill clearly leagalizes all the things you just named. |
