MessageMr Speaker,

Must I remind the hon gentleman, once again, that our "police" are civilians employed by private companies. As such they do not posses the necessary military training to be trusted with firearms in public.

I yield the floor.

MessageMr Speaker,

And must a remind the hon gentleman from the whig party that we rely on police for public safety. What good is an unarmed police against armed criminals?

Yield.

MessageMr Speaker,

The answer, Sir, is to disarm the criminals, not arm the untrained civilians we call a police force. Besides the "police" have military support (i.e. trained personnel!) for dealing with firearms incidents.

I yield the floor.
