Bill: Income 'Flat Tax' Proposal of January 2452
Details
Submitted by[?]: Mordusian Conservative Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2453
Description[?]:
The Mordusian Capitalists Party propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the Federación Española de Mordusia. Given the recent introduction of the Goods and Services Tax, the Mordusian Tax Office now collects 332 Billion MRP via means outside of our Income Taxes. In retrospect, the Mordusian Government currently operates an 'overbloated' surplus, to which the Mordusian Capitalists Party finds unnessasary. Reflecting that we also find the budget to be satisfactory to meet the current needs of this country, we propose significant tax cuts for all income groups. This budget offers 5% cuts to those earning between 10,000 and 50,000 MRP, and 10% cuts to those earning above. We hope that our fellow parties including the Opposition will find this an acceptable measure, in the light that Mordusia currently operates under a free market society. |

Message | I'm on board, the simpler the tax system the better. Major tax break for most citizens. The sales tax gives taxpayers more freedom to choose whether or not to buy, and therefore to better choose their rate of taxation (outside of essentials of course). |

Message | What?! Whether or not to buy? Some people use all their income on essential goods and have no choice whether or not to buy. This only adds up to the inequality of our society. |

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself. |
