MessageThis system drastically reduces taxes on the poor, keeps the national budget almost the same, but keeps taxes on the wealthy at a level which does not unnecessarily punish them. I hope you will all consider voting for it.

MessageWell, I certainly considered it........ and then voted against it. We are appalled that a 228 Billion DRA tax cut is dismissed by the DFC as "keeping the national budget almost the same". Such a flagrant disregard for money reminds me of the time when that asshole Cartwright darkened the Finance Ministry! Dark days indeed.

MessageNot bad. But I don't like this income-cut. Actually wealthy people (>1000 DRA) have a tax of 50%. With your proposal they will pay 1/10. Reduce taxes on poor people (<100) is good, but upwards of 500 DRA...

Message1000 DRA isn't that wealthy.

(OOC- It's not high at all actually. I did some population/tax revenue analysis, and figured out the average Dranian earns around 2,600 DRA. It took me about two hours of painful math and fiddling with the tax system to figure that out but, give or take a bit, 2,600 is the average Dranian income. So the only people paying over 5% tax are those who are substantially over the average income. Average citizens pay a very small tax.

MessageAt least it's a start.

(By the way, custom dictates that only the Finance Minister proposes tax & spending bills.)

MessageOOC: Unwritten rule in Dranland. Nobody seems to follow it these days anyway. Gone are the days of order. ;)
