Bill: Minimum Income Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Progressive Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2453
Description[?]:
Those who are not able to provide for their own subsistence should receive helå from the government. Today there is a limit to for how long a person can receive benefits. This limit should be removed - it is arbitrary and seem to lack any justification. The time limit might deter a few people from abusing the system but most of the people who reach the time limit needs the benefits just as much as they did before. Message | The DLU finds ourselves in agreement with the spirit of the proposed bill, however we do not agree on practical grounds. We remain conscious of developing a state dependent society slowly eroding in our citizens ability to make decision for themselves. While we agree certain elements of society should state funded such as the disabled, carers or long term ill we do not feel able bodied citizens should have the ability to live solely of the hard work of the fellow citizens. Yes we are here to care for those who can’t, but more importantly we need to ensure we create productive and self thinking society. Chester Du Shuu Speak for Heath & Social Services |
