MessageOther suggestions for revisions are welcome before voting begins. The party is not so much attached to its suggestions, as it is to the inadequacy of the current formulation.

Ultimately, as an ideal, unity and freedom are inconsistent. While some balance may be maintained, at a certain level an increase in one necessitates a decrease in the other. The people have shown that they prefer the proponents of liberty to those of unity, and our motto should reflect that.

As to the National Animal, ICE believes that the Raven is not an appropriate symbol. Ravens, while intelligent, are scavengers, feeding on garbage and on the corpses of things which others put out the effort to kill. This may be a fitting mascot for a communist nation, but an individualist nation must have something less parasitic. The spotted hyena is a highly intelligent pack hunter, known for having intelligence comparable to that of some apes, and for a wonderful strain of laughter. Other worthy candidates could include the Wolf, the King Cobra, the Peregrine Falcon, the Crowned Solitary Eagle, the Harpy Eagle. Let us discuss.

MessageChanging a country's motto is tricky, and usually only holds after some type of upset, like a catastrophe or revolution. But "unity" does have a nationalist tint, and we never did get a new motto during the minarchist revolution of 2400...

Since it's a motto that the world will see us by, and for the fact that you need 2/3 of the senate to approve, try to keep it positive. Instead of "from unity" use words that imply consent, such as Freedom and Solidarity, or Identity, or Fellowship...

For the national animal, how about the porcupine? We're friendly, but don't tread on us!

MessageSeperating motto and animal into seperate bills, since animal doesn't require 2/3
Please, still discuss both here though, don't want to clog the works with a bunch of extra bills when nothing is decided.

MessageThe Raven is an integral part of our national heritage and identity. It doesn't matter what you do officially, the Raven will always represent their beautiful homeland in the minds of the people of Cildania.

MessageThe Raven has been and always will be a symbol of our National Heritage, And yet you promote its abolition as an offical symbol of Cildania.
Is this act out of straight disrespect to those who gave their lives in past wars under the ensigna of the Raven, Those who wept as they were given their golds, the Raven sitting proud on their red and blue uniforms?
You ask to change our this Symbol of Cildanias past due to foreign misconceptions of such a proud and great beast?
Is Nothing Sacred, What next we ask ourselves, Do we abandon our entire culture to that of what ever foreign financial power our leaders are keen to Impress?

Message"Foreign financial power"? We seek change because we are not a nation of carrion eaters, of sifters through the trash for that which more civilized beings threw away as unfit for consumption. We are a nation of individuals, a nation of strength. The Raven is a parasite, while the Crowned Solitary Eagle is a noble hunter. It does not hide in an unkindness, as do Ravens, afraid to stand alone. It flies solitary, supreme in its domain, and what it wants, it takes for its own, through the virtue of it's strength, and the vice of its prey's weakness.

MessageAnd who implanted the view of the Raven as primarily a carrion?
The Raven is a proud a noble beast which has long been viewed with pride as reasourcefull, intelligence and crafty.
The Eagle is a symbol of imperialism, absolute rule and long fallen empires.
Should we be afraid of our individuality by viewing such a fine bird differently than she is seen in other lands?
Should we abandon our history, our heritage and past sacrifices for the sake of fashion and fancy?
I say we should not.

MessageThe raven is a creature associated with wisdom and unfortunately wisdom is in short supply in these dark times.

MessageYou speak of the "implanting" the view of the Raven as a carrion eater, as if the nature of a creature were a question of subjective perception rather than objective truth. The Raven *is* an eater of carrion, and of garbage. This is simple fact. Subjectivity only enters the picture when choosing what lessons to draw from fact.

Indeed, the Eagle is a symbol of Imperialism, and of absolute rule. This is why the Crowned Solitary Eagle is the perfect representative for the New Cildania. It is Crowned, it's Sovereignity recognized, it is Solitary, it's Individualism unquestioned, it is an Eagle, it's Majesty without doubt. For in this nation, it is the Majesty of the Sovereign Individual which is respected, absolute Rule By and For the Self, for in serving the Self, the Individual serves the Good.

Incidental to this service to the Highest Morality, the greater good is also served, for when every individual acts in a rationally self-interested manner, for his own benefit, society as a whole is at it's most prosperous.

MessageAnd the diet of the eagles and hawks is something to be admired?
If you have driven along highway 16, although i supose in your place the actual driving would be left to others, from where it crosses the old trunk to where the late Sainte Alessandra Forestry Reserve, which i make specific note of due its recent forced sale from local government into the short attentioned Liebhorn Tourism & Adventure which plans the most glastly paved walk ways and jetboating.
Then you would have seen as have I eagles of the nature in discussion abandoning their old habits to search for the carrion of the highways, the lowly beasts sacrificed to the altar of private transportation.
The Eagle while a symbol of power, is no better a beast than the Corvid, brightest of beats, the trickster, poet and undefeated, He who over all his feathered kin holds dominion over the tale, the patron of story-tellers and the craftiest of hunters.
While the eagle is known only for its strength, a fact notable not from the beast itself but driving from its appearence on the aquillas and crests of classical nations, None of which held land, heritage or relavance to our nation nor our land.
And as the Baron stated, A symbol which has been graced of our former victories, endowed with the pride of the nations greatest moments of strengths, and hardened by Cildanians crises and struggles.
Shall we whipe clean our victories? Our History and Heritage? Will we embark upon the new dawn of tomorrow by abandoning all that our nation and our people have fought for in both near and distant Memory?
Arise Cildania! Jewel of the Sea! before all that we once held dear is lost and forgotten, replaced with a policy of Change for the sake of change and change alone, Progress without just reason and sentiment stands only to halt the progress of progress as Sir Arthur House once stated. Hail Cildania, Land of the Lost.

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire.
