Details

Submitted by[?]: Vanuku Corporate Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2455

Description[?]:

The Vanuku Federal Alliance plans for the future!

We forsee great change in our nation! Political parties are sprouting like wildflowers, and their seeds are taking to the air of politics like no other. As our population grows and the people organize new parties, we must expand to meet their needs!

Therefore! The VFA, after a careful analysis of the budget, present the following proposal to construct a spacious new capitol building in our fine city of Fort Bartlet. We imagine a grand structure, clad in gleaming Vanukuan marble, topped with a large dome sitting atop a rotunda that will house famous portraits, statues, and other historical artifacts. The building will be large enough to hold an expanded legislature, but also the chambers of the President of the Union, the Secretary General, and offices for all the cabinet ministers.

We must grow! VFA planners are meeting with architects now! In order to begin construction we must agree upon the size before plans are complete! We in the VFA propose the following for the size of the building, but we inquire as to what the other parties wish to see:

MessageWhat is this?! The VFA building some kind of palace using the national budget? We believe that this will represent everything we stand against. The FLC will never support a project such as this!

MessageA palace? You dare call the shining symbol of Vanukuan democracy some sort of imperial chancellery?

The FLC has let its newfound position in government get to its head. Not 6 months into power and already it makes wild accusations.

MessageIf you are so critical of this proposal, FLC, then the VFA dares you to submit your own proposal for a SMALLER legislature, with, say, 75 members only.

Then we will see just how quickly it is voted down and the VFA's plan for a grand and glorious symbol of Vanuku government and prosperity will be constructed in its place! And then we will see just how quickly you, the party of eliminating all forms of government, waltz in to take up your party offices!

MessageI think we will take you up on that dare, VFA! The FLC believes central government should be limited to as little people as possible and confined within the smallest structure possible, such as a privately donated motor-home pavilion, NOT the grand monarchical castle that you propose!
