MessageI will vote for it - but indeed wait for after the elections because if I remember correctly the current one was being rejected.

MessageThe PPOL can not support this measure, as it would undermine the ability of the police to protect the People. We support the use of non-leathal weapons, but not exclusivly.

MessageWould the PPOL please explain as to why Police officers carrying non-lethal weapons would, in any way, stop them from protecting the public as surely the use of such weapons would make any possible loss of life or damage to the public or any property reduced. (You can either continue here or message me directly. We await your reply with great interest).

MessageIf the police are limited to use only non-lethal forces, then those People not fearfull of incarceration will have no reason to fear or respect the police in any way. Further, the PPOL has doubts as to the full effectivness of current non-lethal technology, and could not endorse forcing the Police ot use it exclusivly when it could be defeated or fail, leaving them with no power to do anything.

MessageWe understand the PPOL's reasoning, however we feel that the use of non-lethal weapons would not stop the deterent of incarceration. Furthermore, the effectiveness of non-lethal technology is of a high standard, and continuing to improve. We would emplore the PPOL to reconsider their position for the good of our nation.

MessageThe PPOL will only endorse the removeal of leathal weapons when non-leathal have a standing track record to prove there ability. At present the technology is still new and developing. Further, the PPOL would like to point out a flaw in the bill, in that even the best non-lethal weapons presentaly viable can still cause accidental death due to circumstances beyond the control of the user. Thus the stated goal of this bill, to prevent accidental deaths by the police, will fail even if the measure is accepted.

MessageBut the last would even be better as weapons intened to kill will still have a higher kill ratio than weapons intended to temporaly disable.
