Bill: Patriotism Legislation (Second Reading)
Details
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2457
Description[?]:
"We propose this bill on two fronts. First we must put a stop to these outright attacks on our state that go on every day when anti-Beiteynu activists burn flags on street corners. Not only is this an attack on our nation seeing as the flag contains the Star of David it is an affront to the Jewish faith, and such voting against this is essentially voting in favour of religious persecution. Secondly in regards to children we propose the national anthem is played at the start of each school day to inspire them and instill a sense of national pride. For the Homeland! teaches children of our historic struggle and of the very values our nation stands for. However as we accept that For the Homeland may have religious associations that not all are pleased with we shall not mandate singing by each pupil rather a degree of respect must be shown and those that wish to sing it are free to do so. This is not attempt to start some sort of jingoistic or xenophobic movement but rather a move to show that having pride in your country is not racist and is not "evil". To quote our anthem itself: In all we do and all we love, We aim for one uniting goal, Never again shall the tyrants' gloves, Brandish our bodies, sheathe our soul, For the Homeland! For the Homeland!" -- Naczelnik Nasi Efraim Lezeyn |

Random fact: In cases where players have failed to clearly and accurately reference their nation's RP laws in the "Bills under debate" section, Moderation will rule them invalid if a challenge is made to their validity. |
Random quote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson |
