Bill: Media control
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2457
Description[?]:
The Freedom Coalition fails to see why the goverment should pay or meddle in the affairs of the media market. It is even proved that the quality of the media content increases the more competition there is, as a matter of fact. Therefor, we feel that this bill is more appropriate for the sake of the people and the budget. |

Message | As much as we think that the media should consists of the peoples, and not the governments, voice, a national radio service is necessary to provide those Ikradonians without cable televison or any other ways of recieving notice- warnings about severe weather or even local military action. Perhaps the television article we would appove of, but not the radio article. |
Date | 23:08:45, September 16, 2007 CET | From | Red Dawn | To | Debating the Media control |
Message | Well, most radio stations are funded by commercials and thus free for all, so we would still have radio channels availible to all even if this bill passes, so what Yellow Party fears in unlikely to happen. |
Date | 23:18:32, September 16, 2007 CET | From | Yellow Party | To | Debating the Media control |
Message | What the Yellow Party means is, and perhaps we didn't clarify this in the right manner, we do need one government-operated radio station that provides warnings, alerts, and other "non-spinnable" information. We feel that if this bill passes and all radio media becomes private, that the funding for a national radio station would be cut off, and that some Ikradonians may not recieve vital information they need about the weather and other vital matters from private, commercially operated radio stations. |
