Bill: For the CHILDREN Act of 2459
Details
Submitted by[?]: Capitalist Working Families
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2459
Description[?]:
This law simplies and reforms the Commonwealth's divorce laws so that married couples can ONLY get a divorce upon GROUNDED cause: such as a marital affair or domestic violence. Statistics have verified the fact that divorces negatively affect the psychological development of the children involved in the quagmire. Thanks for your full support, but vote for this bill NOT for me, but for the CHILDREN. |

Current: Divorces are legal, be it mutual consent, grounded cause or if one partner wants it.
Proposed: Divorces are only legal with grounded cause (such as adultery, or violence).

Message | Hell no. If people won't be imprisoned in an act of marriage, they should be allowed a divorce without any reason at all. |

Message | If people wish not to be "imprisoned" in the State of Marriage b/c they are perhaps an athiest or humanist, can they not just REFUSE to get married in the first place live as a "Bachelor(ette) for LIFE"??? Similar to the way fellow atheist like Bill Maher (of the HBO political comedy series, "Real Time with Bill Maher") has declared himself to be. |

Message | People should be able to divorce for any reason, as long as the decision is mutual! |

Message | I'm sorry to hear that D-E-M, and I apologize WHOLEHEARTEDLY if I offended you in ANYWAY. However, that is the main reason that I am so passionate about this issue: that is that when divorces occur, it is the CHILDREN (you as a prime example) that suffer the MOST b/c they are stuck in the precarious situation of "choosing sides." Therefore, I believe that divorces should ONLY allowed in the case of marital unfaithfulness and spousal abuse to avoid the negative psychological that it has on children. Again, I apologize if I offended you. |

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that. |
