MessageBecause "Federal Assembly" sounds more modern and directly implies a unicameral legislature, whereas "Federal Parliament" sounds unoriginal, old and indirectly implies a bicameral legislature. And I just like the sound of "Federal Assembly". :-D

MessageUndecided, although i prefer MP - Member of Parliament to MA - Member of Assembly or MFA- Member of Federal Assembly.

MessageWe could still use the term "Member of Parliament" to refer to a member of the Federal Assembly, although I must admit I already use the term "deputy", "delegate" or "representative" more often when I refer to one of our MPs.

MessageAgainst. Parliament is a nicer word and this bill has little other meaning.

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn
