| As our colonization efforts to the East continue with spectacular results, the DSP feels that to better protect Sekowan interests, and to explore further unexplored areas of Terra, we should start an exploration and colonization of the Island off the Eastern coast of the mini-continent of Squibble. Further more the island appears to have a great deal of fertile and usable tropical land, a boon to our nation, since we are dominated by mountainous with barely enough arable land to keep our own people fed, and even with our Eastern acquisitions, there are many crops we still can not grow, since we don't have the right climate to grow them. Currently there are plans in Beiteynu to start doing similar things on the Squibble mainland, and as such we believe we need to make our presence known in the region as well and further cement our position as a nation of science and exploration. To give everyone an idea of where we are talking about we have produced two maps of the region. | Message | Further more this would allow us better space access. As it is now we have a very limited amount of orbital trajectories open to us do to both our nations geographic location as well as our space launch facilities size being limited do to our nations internal geography. Since the Island (which we're calling Tropica for simplicity) is in the tropics of the Southern hemisphere it opens up many different orbital insertion launches available to us. It also allows us to build more and bigger launch facilities do its own relatively flat geography. |
