MessageI prefer the current law:

"Religious schools are allowed, but are strictly regulated. Only recognised religions may set up religious schools."

Calmly, I'll explain why:

"Only recognised religions may set up religious schools"

- This prevents cults from opening up schools and allows the governemnt to shut down illegal religious schools.

"Religious schools are allowed, BUT ARE STRICTLY REGULATED"

Meaning, the Government STRICTLY REGULATES the schools and in my view they are no threat.

I am against this Bill.

MessageI'm pondering this...on the one hand the people are fanatics, but they like public schools more than fanatacism. On the other hand, I'm a religious person myself, but I agree with the ideas behind SHP's public school system.

MessageThe idea of "recognised religions" itself is against freedom of worship.
There shouldn't be "recognised" religions, but they all should be accepted and equally-treated as long as they do not go against secular law.

MessageKPP, as a member of the World Jewish Congress, how do you feel they would react to you supporting a proposal to ban Jewish schools?

MessageWe can't say "this religion is good, this is bad", so don't let NFP manipulate your feelings with personal observations.

MessageObviously he is. The legislation says "recognised religons" so it doesn't allow cults to set up schools, because cults are not recognised religions.

It allows for your Christian, Jewish schools etc. and the schools are "strictly regulated" - so whats the problem?

Do you think there is something wrong with the current legislation KPP, honestly?

Message"he not as pro-civil liberties as you may think." - To be fair you did try to pass three laws restricting the rights of homosexuals, so I'm not all too impressed by your civil liberties stance either.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
