| As it is today, the television networks are allowed to broadcast whatever they wish. In addition to blatant falsehoods regarding quack medical care and shocking stereotypes of minorities, there is also subversive content, criticizing our government for things with skewed viewpoints and half-truths. While the treaty we foolishly signed forbids us from doing anything about the latter kind of content, surely we can do something to prevent blatant lies and hate speech from being broadcast? This bill has recently been changed. Only falsehoods will be regarded as censored. |

Current: There are laws against the publication of false information, hate speech, and subversive anti-government material.

| Message | The Independent Centrist Party does not support this bill. Who is to classify and determine what hate speech is? Is any word against the government hate speech? Let the decency and will of the people decide as the freedom of speech is a pillar of our society. Loss of patrons and advertisers will punish any media source that publishes what the people consider hate speech. The ICP supports restrictions on proven falsehoods and recommends that the bill only include that restriction to the freedom of speech. |

| Message | Who is to classify hate speech? Why, the government, of course. As adults to children, so the government must act towards the common man. We will teach the people what is good to say, and what is not good. We will show them how to act. But the Outer Church is prepared to amend this bill to only allow restrictions on falsehoods, pending other parties' opinions. We will wait before we act. |

| Message | It is unfortunate that so many people who say they serve the government will do nothing to protect it from those that seek to udnermine it's authority. Very well. If we must restrict the terminology to "falsehoods", then so be it. The bill will be changed to reflect this. Anything else to add before we move this to the voting stage? |
