Description[?]:
A bill to legalize private schools, to allow parents lucky enough to be in a position to do so the freedom to choose a more competitive educational facility for their children. The PSFVP acknowledges private education has not been a popular policy in a while, but views blanket opposition to private education as overly restrictive. Far better to allow a small number of private schools to be run under the supervision of the government. This will allow those parents who are willing and able to pay for private education for their children the chance to do so, while allowing the government to ensure private schools are still being run in the public interest. This bill stays in line with our nations proud history of free education, while leaving options for future growth in the education sector open for exploration at a later date. |

Message | Allow the PRP to quote from the bill. It proposes "[Allowing] parents lucky enough" to provide a different education for monetary compensation. Luck has no place in the education of our nation. A family's means should not result in separate educational opportunities. This is why the Government pays for all post-Secondary education. |

Message | Private schools are breeding grounds for religious lies being taught as facts. The DSP does not support them. Also what PRP said. |

Message | The PSFVP acknowledges the concern over private schools becoming "breeding grounds for religious lies being taught as facts", and the bill protects against this, giving the government the ability to regulate what is being taught. Blanket opposition to private schools, although it may be based on good intentions (wanting to promote equal education) does mean that it limits the freedom of parents to choose. Private schools by their vary nature are more compeditive, can afford to hire better teachers, better facilities and are better funded. Why are we preventing those that are able from ataining a higher level of education than the one avaliable at public schools? With the government providing free post secondary education, we will always have a strong level of academic equality, so why are we limiting the freedom of our nation's parents in such a way? |

Message | By making all schools public we are ensuring public schools have good teachers, rather than allowing private schools which may offer twice the amount or more salary wise for a person in the educational field to work for them which would thusly take away good educators from public schools. |
