Message | The reason we propose this is because space exploration is prohibitively expensive for one company to go it alone. But, if many companies were to get together and pool their resources, space exploration becomes easy to afford. Since a space program is a strategic necessity these days, an Imperial Selucian Space Agency (ISSA) would be necessary to coordinate such an endeavour so that we may gain optimal military and scientific benefits. |

Message | Yes, we support his bill. We strongly suggest the other parties to do the same. Some nice satilites would be fine. |

Message | Yes, satelites would be quite fine! Later on we could even land our astronauts on the moon(s) and neighbouring planets. We are thankful for IPS support! |

Message | We ask that current scientific business leaders lead said agency since the private sector is giving up the oversight of their own affairs and becoming mere contractors. |

Message | Of course, the current scientific business leaders would have a say in leading the ISSA, along with the leading scientific minds of our beloved empire. |

Message | That is all we seek so that our businesses are not bogged down with such an agency. |

Message | We are concerned that problems closer to home require our attention before we look to the stars. The costs are not worth the rewards. |

Message | Addressing Concerns: SCP- We see no reason why our businesses engaging in aeronautics and space exploration need be bogged down by the ISSA. In fact, such an agency would provide them with greater opportunities to profit from this glorious endeavour. FSP- There are problems "closer to home" in which we would benefit from a space agency. There are many unstable nations upon our planet (take a look at the Beluzia Republic, for instance: http://82.238.75.178:8085/particracy/main/viewnation.php?nationid=9) which could pose a threat to our homeland. With a network of satellites in place, we could detect these potential threats before they become deadly to us. Also, the same satellites could make it easier to communicate within the empire and with the rest of the world. |

Message | Point taken, PMP, but how are we going to communicate news that the Empire is about to commit billions to space 'exploration' to our own citizens when all they want is better hospital, school and home infrastructural conditions which cost less than space research? |
Date | 00:24:07, September 03, 2005 CET | From | New Passive Militarist Party | To | Debating the Imperial Selucian Space Agency (ISSA) Enabling Act |
Message | Point well taken, FSP. In fact, much of the space exploration would be undertaken by private companies. The main job of the ISSA would be to co-ordinate these efforts and much of the taxpayer's money put toward the ISSA would be returned to the treasury as profits are made. Besides, we doubt that our citizens want nothing but hospitals, schools and infrastructure. Our fellow Selucians also want an empire to be proud of, and a space agency that would assist our nation in becoming a leading light in global science is definitely a part of this. |

Message | We respect the wise words of the PMP but since we seek to champion the poor, small folk of rural Selucia we must vote No. |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
