Bill: Revised Budget proposal of May 2462
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Workers' Party and CTUL List
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2463
Description[?]:
The Democratic Workers' Party Finance Minister, Frederik Falchetka, proposes to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica. His statement is as follows, "Given the surplus of revenue after current levels of investment, we have never been as able to afford an increase in public service expenditure as we can now. Even following this budget amendment, we would have an excess of 8bn LIK. Cutting this remaining surplus by reducing levels of income tax is currently the predominant intention. "This budgetary amendment sees the most notable increases in expenditure in the areas of Health and Social Services, and Education and Culture. Given recent legislation promoting the formation of comprehensive and fair health and education systems, these areas must be allotted a reasonable budget in order to thrive. If we do not increase public spending in these areas, we risk letting them become a drain on the national economy, and a threat to its stability. We petition the Convocation to ensure the success of its recent legislation." This is the revised edition of the original proposal of February 2462. This revised proposal sees through popular approval a minor cut in the inflated justice budget, the freed revenue of which has been redistributed between Foreign Affairs, Finance, Defence, Health/Social Services and Trade and Industry. |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
