MessageLeaping straight to a situation where there is no centrally held form of identification?

This strikes us as not just populist, but potentially dangerous - in the extreme.

MessageThe only potential danger we see is to continue allowing government and its personnel inequitably boundless reserves of personal information of ordinary and decent Likatonian citizens.

MessageWait - why are we assuming EVERY citizen is both ordinary and decent?

Do we honestly believe ALL crime in Likatonia is the hadniwork of immigrants and tourists?

An identity card isn't that much information - it's a fairly reasonable precaution... no more than asking each person to be able to support the claim that they are who they say they are.
