Message | Lodamun has long been a beacon to oppressed people everywhere. We reap the skills of the world and become a multicultural society as a result. Why destroy this legacy? |
Date | 18:41:34, August 18, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Refugee Bill |
Message | We will only support a move to "All refugees are welcome, but no aid is given to them". Open Immigration is a TiC policy. |

Message | This isn't really a matter of immigration - it is a matter about refugees, which is a bit different. |
Date | 22:01:06, August 18, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Refugee Bill |
Message | Shouldn't we be MORE welcoming towards refugees, who are by definition fleeing persecution through no fault fo their own, than we are to immigrants who come seeking Lodamun's economic opportunities? |

Message | Immigration policy and refugee policy are the same for Tuesday is Coming. The only restrictions we support is one on criminals, not all immigrants have good intentions. Those with a record of commiting certain crimes anywhere(murder, etc.) or commiting crimes in Lodamun, should be turned away. However, these are a minority of immigrants. |

Message | We support the TiC policy here as we have in the past on this issue. There is no reason to close our borders to anyone who wishes to come here. We have a strong economy, plenty of land to be developped, and some of the best conditions for immigrants to succeed anywhere in the world. What we do not need to do is provide aid to people comming into the country. They will benefit enough from our taxation systems and economic system that rewards those who make the effort. If they are just looking for a free hand out, then they should go elsewhere. |
