Bill: Tournament Funding

Details

Submitted by[?]: Secular Humanist party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2466

Description[?]:

We have a new national sport. It's time to utilise it, and revive Telamon's war torn economy.

This bill allocates additional funding to various areas, with the intent of preparing Telamon to host a grant Mortal Kombat tournament in a year or so. Fighters and spectators will come from all over the world, and the tourism industry shall prosper like never before.

MessageI think we ought to cut the defence budget, we really don't have that much need for it. Also, we need more money for police (Internal Affairs) and we should cut the Food and Agriculture budget.

MessageThe food and agriculture budget subsidises farmers who grow food for telamon. It pays for regulators to ensure food is fit for human consumption.

We do not think that should be cut. Food and agriculture funding is already relatively much lower than other areas. The others seem agreeable, and I will append this bill later on.

MessageFarm subsidies are sort of pointless. The free-market system will give adequate compensation to producers.

MessageI think we must enforce more money into the internal affairs for now as our country is in despair

MessageThis proposal makes sense to the PSP. We support this bill but we would encourage the Secular Humanist Party to raise the budget for Trade and Industry 7,000,000,000.

MessageWe can do things incrementally. Values can be adjusted later. These seems to be no argument against these increases.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".

Random quote: "Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based on five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, and county commissioners." - Edward Abbey
