Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2481
Description[?]:
We propose the following: That we introduce a combined identity card, containing Retinal, Fingerprint, PIN-based, and DNA security levels. That this card replace all current forms of governmental id; Drivers License, Passport, etc. That the card also be linked to a citizens government bank account, and as such can be used for purchases in stores, in a similar fashion to a credit card. That this card be kept in a place of a citizens discretion; a secure location, on their person, wherever they choose, and not be required to be produced on demand, however for offences which require id, such as motoring offences, it can be requested that it is produced within 28 days. |

Message | We fully oppose the dangerous practice of re-constructing a national database abundant with extremely sensitive personal data. Contrary to the belief that this will cut crime, this will only cause an increase in identity theft and will be particularly hazardous in criminal prosecutions, whereby it will be infinitely easier to frame a suspect under the false pretences of "biometrical evidence". |

Message | We like it, although it's a little halfhearted. |

Message | This is the TYPICAL Gov't scam in which the State "pretends" to let the National ID system be "voluntary" but eventually gives ECONOMIC incentives (or penalties) to individuals that don't opt in the system. It is a SHREWD-but-successful "bait-and-switch" strategy. We are not amused. |

Message | There is no suggestion here that the ID cards are voluntary. Only carrying them. Once again, the CWFP seems to be tilting at windmills. |

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life fictional references (eg. Gandalf, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker). |
Random quote: "The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve 'the common good.' It is true that capitalism does, if that catch-phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man's rational nature, that it protects man's survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is justice." - Ayn Rand |
