Message | I emphasis this "They can have part time jobs, or even paid apprenticeships, and any money they earn will be taxed, and therefore they have a right to vote on how those taxes are spent." |

Message | While I'm sure that some sixteen year olds are responsible enough to vote, the vast majority could easily be swayed by friends and popular media. Also, this bill affects more than just the voting age. Anybody who is sixteen or over will be allowed to own a gun, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and purchase pornography. Do we really want this in Gaduridos? |

Message | We disagree with this bill. The human brain does not stop fully growing and developing until the age of 21, 18 is a good compromise. |
Date | 15:32:05, August 19, 2005 CET | From | Democratic Centre Party of Gaduridos | To | Debating the Emancipation of Minors |
Message | We believe that responsibility is not learned in a vacuum, and it makes sense to allow young people some authority over their lives. 16 is perhaps too young, but we might agree to a compromise age of 17. |
Date | 22:06:47, August 19, 2005 CET | From | Gaduridos National Party | To | Debating the Emancipation of Minors |
Message | The GNP feel that 16 years old is too young to vote, and i feel that a compromise at 17 is not worth it. Stick to 18. Although the GNP does wish to state that it is against the idea that 16 year olds with part-time jobs or apprenticeships are taxed. |

Message | We will have to vote no to this, but would vote yes if the age were 17. |

Random quote: "Capitalism demands the best of every man- his rationality- and rewards him accordingly. It leaves every man free to choose the work he likes, to specialize in it, to trade his product for the products of others, and to go as far on the road of achievement as his ability and ambition will carry him." - Ayn Rand |
