Message | We will support this if articles three and four are stricken. |
Date | 16:17:11, October 08, 2007 CET | From | Indralan Council for Universal Democracy | To | Debating the Religion, May 2467 |
Message | We would strike article three if we could (it's currently in vote), but article four is a necessary part of this bill; the government is supposed to look as if it does not care for any religion one way or another because it is supposed to be separate. If the government officials are wearing religious symbols while performing a speech, that unconsciously looks like to the audience that the government is endorsing that religion, as it is only consciously that we separate the symbol from the uniform. |
Date | 17:30:12, October 08, 2007 CET | From | Christian Universalist Party | To | Debating the Religion, May 2467 |
Message | This legislation would fundamentally undermine freedom of religion in Indrala. |
Date | 20:52:55, October 08, 2007 CET | From | Indralan Council for Universal Democracy | To | Debating the Religion, May 2467 |
Message | Oh really? We don't see how this prevents a person from holding a religious belief or practicing religion. Enlighten us. |
Date | 11:53:58, October 09, 2007 CET | From | Christian Universalist Party | To | Debating the Religion, May 2467 |
Message | For a start, article 2 severely curtails the activities of churches. |
Date | 17:39:57, October 09, 2007 CET | From | Indralan Council for Universal Democracy | To | Debating the Religion, May 2467 |
Message | Practicing a religion does not mean you have to shove it down others' throats. As the proposal clearly states, evangelism is permitted by individuals. |
