Bill: National policy regarding the desecration of the national flag

Details

Submitted by[?]: bran1322 Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2469

Description[?]:

People that desecrate the national flag are already seen as people that should not be listened to. The condemning comes from the public at large and generally destroying a flag only serves to reduce any on the fence support that group may have. With that said, a healthy open free democracy has to allow for dissent because it creates a more tolerant society. That belief is at the core of a democracy, more so than the symbolic nature of a flag. What makes a nation great are the ideas which provide the foundation for a society, not the symbols that a country chooses. Hence why the policy choices being debated in this forum are more frequent about health and education rather than the national animal.

MessageThis bill is unpatriotic to the national pride, as the author I can see and will admit that. But to me anyway it is more important to fight for the ideals of a minority inclusive democratically elected and stable country like ours.
