Bill: Controlled Fireworks Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2469
Description[?]:
Every year, countless animals and pets, not to mention human beings, are recklessly hurt or injured through the stupid, sometimes malicious use of fireworks. Countless millions of property damage is also made annually through the antisocial and downright dangerous use of fireworks, particularly by adolescent boys. The lack of restrictions on the purchase and use of firework displays - including larger fireworks - means that such stupid acts of vandalism and firework-related injuries are bound to continue unabated. I encourage the Assembly to consider ratifying this Act to tighten the control and access to fireworks, in order that they are used properly and sensibly, so that we reduce the damage caused by letting them fall into the wrong hands. |
