Bill: Military/Police Act, 2098
Details
Submitted by[?]: Alliance of Free Persons
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2099
Description[?]:
Currently, the military is prohibited from involving itself in policing the population, even in the most extreme of cases. However, following this law to its logical end, that means that, in the hopefully unlikely event of a revolution in our nation, the military would be prohibited from defending our nation. We propose that the military be allowed to assist the civilian police force, but only in the most extreme cases. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
