Bill: Tax FAIRNESS, Economic GROWTH, & Job CREATION Act 2471

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kapitalist-Arbeitsfamilien Partei

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2472

Description[?]:

Dear My Fellow Members of The Convocation:

MILLIONS of our fellow Likatonians are suffering from STARVATION, UNEMPLOYMENT, and POVERTY!!! We must reform our nation's tax code so that it would encourage Pro-GROWTH economic policies to create jobs and thereby be able to better compete with other nations within Terra. Some of our regions are facing unemployment rates at a nearly ABYSMAL 9% which is basically leaning towards "Third World Status."

(1) Therefore, the Capitalist Working Families Party's first plan to alleviate poverty is to completely abolish ALL income taxes for families making between 30,000 & 40,000 LIK (or about the equivalent to $75,000 to $100,000 in U.S. Dollars, respectively) to a 0% rate. If we allow that portion of Middle Class familes of this great Republic keep MORE of their OWN money instead of shelving it to some government bureaucrat at the Internal Revenue Service of Likatonia (IRSL), they are natually going to SPEND, SAVE, and INVEST in the economy thus bolstering it from the BOTTOM-up (a.k.a. "demand-side/"pump priming" economics).

(2) (a) Second, the Federal Government will maintain its adequate source of revenue by levying a Flat Tax of 20% for ALL incomes ABOVE 40,000 LIK (or the equivalent to $100,000 in U.S. Dollars) on the wealthy instead of the abyssmally REGRESSIVE tax rate of 4%.

(b) Not only will this be a FAIRER system since the wealthy will be the SOLE sources of Federal revenue, but this bill also gives long awaited Corporate Tax relief to the Democratic Worker Councils (DWCs) that own all of the nation's industries by completely ABOLISHING the Corporate Tax. This will stimulate the economy from the TOP-down (a.k.a. Supply-side/"trickle-down" economics) since the business class (who actually CREATE the jobs, btw) will then either SPEND, SAVE, or RE-invest that "25%" in Corporate Tax savings in increasing production and thus MORE JOBS!!!

(c) In an aggressive effort to BALANCE the Federal budget, this bill temporarily raises the LUXURY Tax that primarily the WEALTHY consumers pay on luxury items such as Rolexes, jewelry, Cruise vacations to the Bahamas, etc. by about 20 percentage points to a 50% rate.

(3) In conclusion, this revolutionary tax reform plan is neither the Conservative "Trickle-down economics" plan of the Conservatives nor the "pump-priming economics" plan of Liberals, but what I like to call "Common-Sense Economics" since it CONSOLIDATES the two in order to pave the road for a better and more prosperous Likatonia.

Thank you for your full support.

Cordially yours,

Christian E. Savage, Minority Leader of th Capitalist Working Families Party

(1) The Wealthy DO pay their fair share, and, in fact, they are the SOLE sources of income tax revenue as the income tax was INCREASED from a miniscule 4% to 20% on families making more than 40,000 LIK;

(2) (a) The abolishment of the corporate tax does NOT give the rich a "free ride" b/c---remember the laws of the nation, check them again if you are not certain---ALL of the industries and corporations in Likatonia are owned, run, and managed by DEMOCRATIC WORKER COUNCILS (DWCs) while some of the critical industries are owned by the STATE .

(b) Likatonia is NOT a Corporate Capitalist economy but "technically" a pure MARXIST economy. Therefore, the abolishment of the corporate tax not only will create jobs, but it will lift the tax burden off of the WORKERS that own the companies.

(3) As for the "US Dollar joke," I know we are not to use real world examples, but I just wanted to simply equate the value of the imaginary LIK currency with that of the REAL world U.S. Dollar b/c we are all "technically" familiar with that income level. It was just a mere exchange rate equation.

For simple purposes, why can't we just enliven the dynamics of the game by pretending that the U.S. is just another country on a planet that is on the other side of the galaxy like in a "Star Wars" kind of a way???

MessageOOC: As a non US resident, I object to an irrelevant and devalued currency being used as any sort of example or model. Really, CWFP, you are beginning to get on my nerves with this. Is it so hard to immerse yourself in the environment without these repeated overt and irrelevant references. If we had space travel, had solved the FTL drive problem, and had contact with alien races, then yes, we could make believe that we've met Ewoks, Americans, or any other imaginary races, but we don't, haven't, can't and won't.

IC: The Sword and Shield feel that Luxury Goods taxes are the fairest and best kinds. The Likaton environment is not suited towards capitalist corporate structures, and removing the corporations tax as an incentive may just foster conflict, however we could support. We will not, however, agree a massive income tax hike, even if it is just for our super-rich.

Message1) We didn't say anything about whether "The Wealthy DO pay their fair share". We talked only about corporations.

2) a) The AM SuDP doesn't understand the arguments the CWFP are trying to make. The LIK is becoming increasingly irrelevent to the internal workings of Likatonia. The coeporate taxes in effect, put purchase power where it is most needed - in the hands of the government. Look at our laws... look at our aid programs. We barely need an internal economy.

b) cutting taxes on corporations can't 'create jobs'. Neither does it effect the individual worker earnings. If the CWFP cares to look, the corporate tax ONLY affects: "the PROFIT made by corporations". It leaves wages, costs and investment untouched.

3) We intenesly don't care about these 'dolors' of which you speak. Three and a half LIK gets you a gallon of milk.. that's a comparison that matters to the average Likatonian... and it's good enough for us.

MessageThe tax burden should fall on corporations; this will not stunt job creation. The government can always promote job creation in ways other than transferring the weight of taxation to the shoulders of the ordinary Likatonian. This will not only discourage spending, thus potentially threatening an economic recession, but it is immoral and illogical. As our AM SuDP colleagues have already stated, the internal economy of Likatonia is negligible. This proposal is regressive to Likatonia - the sights of Convocation ought to be set on the eventual abolition of the LIK altogether. We look forward to bringing about the gift economy the People want, not half-witted suggestions about making fat cats fatter. This taxation amendment offers nothing but a widening of the gap between rich and poor in Likatonia. We can not support a single word of this bill.

We in the AM SuDP don't actually envision a COMPLETE removal of the LIK - but we certainly see a future where it's only use is 'external'... basically, only a step or two from where we currently stand.

DWP, CHECK the laws. There are no rich people in Likatonia b/c ALL of the industries or either owned by the STATE (Socialism) or Democratic Worker Councils (unions) (Marxism).

There are NO wealthy corporations therefore the corporate tax is infringing on the WORKERS who own the corporations.

MessageAgain, the CWFP fails to comprehend: no one is being 'infringed' on - ONLY 'profit' is being taxed on corporate finances.

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
