Bill: Cabinet Proposal of February 2472

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ma'avak

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2472

Description[?]:

"This cabinet proposal represents the cabinet currently in minus any parties that have stated aims that run contrary to the existence of a Beiteynuese state. Recognising the immense political differences in existence in the Knesset we wish to hand the posts of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs over the Moderate Voice of Reason Party as they have proven to be an effective middle ground between warring factions. We hope to have the support of all parties on this matter."

Message"While we are flattered by this proposal, it does not seem, to us, viable in light of the latest election. Seeing as our legislature now seats 360 representatives and the three party cabinet would only hold 117 votes,64 votes away from a majority, we would either need to include more parties or get assurances from parties not in the cabinet that they would support us when it comes to key issues." ---- David Manishevitz, MVR vice-leader and spokesperson on internal affairs.

What follows is an excerpt from a speech made by Shlomo Ziegler:

"... And Recent events have shifted the political landscape of this great land. We, as a people, are in a state of flux. We need to ask ourselves some questions before we can move forward. Who are we? What do we want?... There are choices to be made, and in the new era of uncertainty we need to find unity. For without unity we are lost in the dark, where there is no hope. For in darkness there is only fear. Fear for our future, fear for our children's future and a nation that fears the coming day is a nation that has lost all its promise."

Message"We can make assurances on behalf of Mifleget HaAvoda HaDemokratit that we would be willing to support the governing coalition on reforming Beiteynu provided they commit themselves to fighting the Pontesian invasion and maintaining Beiteynu holds sovereignty over all five of its Mehozot."

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".

Random quote: "Communism, like any other revealed religion, is largely made up of prophecies." - H. L. Mencken
