Description[?]:
Accepting that it is the responsibility of the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of children to decide on the suitability of entertainment that those to whom they are responsible are allowed to utilise, whilst also accepting that current legislation actually limits the ability of the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) to limit/allow the use of aforementioned entertainments due to the ability of people of any age to purchase any materials, whether the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) deem such entertainments as being suitable, the Government will, henceforth and with immediate effect, introduce age boundaries and regulations on the selling of those entertainments in so doing returning the control from the Child to the Parent(s)/Guardian(s). Should the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) decide to purchase age restricted materials for those under their care who are under the age of recommendation then they must accept responsibility for those actions and no legal suits may be brought against either the publisher, the sales company, the sales person, or the Government and its regulators. Age boundaries are as follows: U - Universal. Suitable for all ages. PG - Parental Guidance. No Child under the age of 10 may purchase said material without the presence of a Parent(s)/Guardian(s) below the age of 16. 12 - Recommended for ages 12+. Purchase may only be made by persons aged 12 and over. 15 - Recommended for ages 15+. Purchase may only be made by persons aged 15 and over. 18 - Recommended for ages 18+. Message | Indeed we need such legislation. |
Date | 14:06:10, October 22, 2007 CET | From | The Family First Party | To | Debating the Video Game Content Display Act |
Message | We support wholeheartedly. This legislation will ensure that children are protected from innappropriate material, because, whilst it is indeed the parent's responsibility to ensure that their children are not subjected to such material, the Family First Party understands that parents cannot be everywhere at every time. Solid legislation. |
