Bill: Electroal Proportionality Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Gaian Nuncirist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2477
Description[?]:
This bill would give the larger regions slightly more voice than the smaller regions. These regions have more people and deserve more say. Do 41,000,000 people have the same amount of say as 29,000,000 people? In Wantuni they do. We should give these extra 11,000,000 people their voice back and allow for a proportional style electoral process. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The method used to determine the number of seats each region receives in the national legislature.
Old value:: Equal representation, regardless of region population.
Current: Equal representation, regardless of region population.
Proposed: A proportional algorithm that gives a very small advantage to larger regions.

Message | We changed it to the equal representation a short time ago, most of the parties agreed with it. So I don't think this one is going to change. |

Message | We support this measure. This would ensure fair representation for the larger populations while protecting the regions minority provinces from being wholly controlled by the majority. |
