Bill: Call for early elections, January 2099

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dolgarian Imperial Revivalists

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: September 2099

Description[?]:

Since things have been re-jogged somewhat with a reset and so on, I propose that we hold a new election ASAP so as to see what the new political landscape actually is.

Then if desired, we can give it a year or so for parties to realign themselves if necissary, and then hold some further elections.

MessageMost of us have very low coherency at the moment on key issues; early elections would be a disaster. Let's give this time to settle out first, get our political realignments done, and then proceed with elections.

MessageWell that's what you get for being a political opportunist, if you stuck to your principles then you wouldn't have any coherency problems. Its rather ironic that the DUP, which is meant to be very popularist etc..., has actually turned into perhaps one of the more coherent parties, as well I decided to start voting along the lines of my own convictions rather than what the opinion polls say.

MessageHmm, none of us seem to have any coherency. Its all these still long bills with bucket loads of proposals, causing us all to look like flip-floppers.

MessageIt's also that slight changes in position on the same side of the issue cause incoherency too. I've voted in favor of EVERY pro-military growth bill we've had, no flip-flops there at all, yet I have "No" coherency because I guess I've moved from Moderate Militarist to Convinced Militarist.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".

Random quote: "Erotic politicians, that's what we are. We're interested in anything about revolt, disorder, chaos and activity that appears to have no meaning." Jim Morrison
