Description[?]:

(1) The Renaissance flourished with more ideas than do today without copyright laws. This is due in part of artists copying other artists. Copyright merely hinders any sort of progress.

(2) Open source is more democratic. By the people, for the people.

(3) A ban on software patents shares both of the above arguments.
