Message | We will support this on certain conditions: Taxes are not used to fund this(this includes deficits, etc.-future taxes). Private schools are not forced to teach this. Leave their curriculum up to the schools themselves No one is forced to learn this, voluntary education is more effective anyway. Perhaps any government controlled media could include this in their content? |

Message | Whereas is being misused in this proposition. Whereas means "in contrast to", "different to". Where the government publishes environmental guidelines, these should, in our opinion be included in school curricula. However should is just what this will remain as must implies the government defining curricula which is wrong. We are perfectly happy to require all corporations to publish their waste output figures along with their financial figures. Likewise we would happily support and encourage international environmental events in our nation. Offering to this end tax breaks on the costs involved. We would also be willing to give tax incentives to cleaner consumption, but as sales tax is currently at zero, this is impossible. |

Message | God help me, I agree with ASP and TiC. Except, I believe it should be law that this becomes part of the public school curriculum. |

Message | The resolution is written in proper international format. It is the governmet's duty to do something to promtoe environmental education. We await their actions. |

Message | We don't recognise this international format that misuses the language. It should be something like "Considering that the Citizens Assembly has agreed by consensus that the environment is a positive good, and Recognising that the government parties have jsut removed national-level environmental regulation, and Recognising that the government parties claim to support environmental education instead of regulation The Assembly calls upon the government to undertake some form of environmental education, and asks that the government inform the Assembly what measures it intends to take." |

Message | We have to oppose due to the grammartical obstinacy of the GA. If they repropose this using the correct terms, then we will support. Whereas is a connective of opposition, it is almost synonymous with Despite. ((In RL I am an English teacher amongst other things.) |

Message | OOC: yeah, whatever. In real life I have to read a lot of UN resolutions, and this is how they use whereas. For confirmation, google UN resolution whereas. You'll see plenty, including US congressional resolutions too if you're a UN-hater. According to dictionary.com: where·as ( P ) Pronunciation Key (hwâr-z, wâr-) conj. It being the fact that; inasmuch as. While at the same time. While on the contrary. n. An introductory statement to a formal document; a preamble. A conditional statement. More to the point, we look forward to learning what the government plans to DO now that this resolution seems set to pass. |

Message | Long live typos you mean. (and rather large fingers that tend to hit two keys at the same time.)) |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller |
