Bill: GDP Budget proposal of January 2479

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan Popular Front

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2480

Description[?]:

The Grössere Dundorf Partei propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Republic of Kirlawa:

1. Inefficiencies in Transport and Tourism can easily be taken out to moderately reduce spending
2. Health and Education have been woefully underfunded in the recent past, despite much better levels in the past. We wish to restore the trillion-plus Dinar budgets of previous centuries (which, with inflation is still too low)
3. Defence, Policing and Justice can all do with more spending - personal and national security should not be undersold
4. The Trade and Industry Budget is far too high - Business will probably welcome a reduction in the interference of civil servants.

Overall, The budget changes will not require more taxes, as income has risen in recent years. We can use growth to pay for better services.

(We put this budget to the house, on the basis that the current levels of spending on vital public services are far too low, and that fat in other departments can easily be trimmed.)
