Message | DWP, you actually have it BACKWARDS!!! Indoctrination (in a political or religious sense) actually comes when their are CONSERVATIVES in the government controlling the school curriculum since the Government has a MONOPOLY on students' education. Rather, under a 100% Free-Market system, this means that EVERYONE can start their school including the the Catholics, the IMMERESSENS, the SOCIALISTS, the MARXISTS, the COMMUNISTS, the Nazis, the UNIONS, the corporations, etccccc. The magnificent BEAUTY of capitalism is that it tolerates ALL viewpoints in the market (democracy) but socialism tolerates ONE view: whoever (I think that's us...haha) is in CONTROL of government!!! |

Message | How on earth can the CWFP honestly believe they are in control of the government when they have the least seats of any Party? No one has less mandate to form government than the CWFP. We do not support ANY private bodies setting up schools - be they Trade Unions, the Church of Immeressen, or corporations. We do not support ANY kind of indoctrination in our schools. In a comprehensive, free state-schooling system, education will be independent of political forces, as education should be. We have faith that our children will of course be educated enough to CHOOSE to support socialism within Likatonia, as it is the only logical and rational political ideology. One doesn't have to TELL the People to vote for socialism if they are bright enough to see that it is both Likatonia's and Terra's only hope. We have no intention of coercing any child into voting for the DWP, although clearly the CWFP are hell-bent on starting CWFP schools for that very reason. But then desperate times call for desperate measures, we suppose. If the CWFP are to win any kind of proportion of seats needed to be able to claim a mandate for real political power, this is probably the only way they will be able to set about it. |

Message | We have to point out to the CWFP that capitalism isn't democracy.... you can have an dictatorial capitalist state, or a democratic communist one... neither economic model MUST be linked to a certain style of government. |

Message | We concur with the above statement and it is HISTORICALLY true. However, we were arguing in the context of capitalism being ECONOMIC FREEDOM. You see, in a dictatorial socialist state, the people have NEITHER political nor economic freedom. However, in a dictatorial capitalist state, the people have ECONOMIC freedom to buy, sell, trade, etc. but not POLITICAL freedom. The CWFP believes that the Likatonian people deserve BOTH political and economic freedom and we are not leaving until they get it (haha) |

Message | The Likatonian people have consistently had exonomic and political freedom. The CWFP seems confused. Just because the CWFP doesn't like socialism, communism, or religious rule.. doesn't mean that those kinds of things haven't been directly democratically voted into place by the People themselves. |

Message | Economic freedom is freedom from poverty. Capitalism actively encourages poverty, whilst socialism encourages an equal say in the economy - therefore equal freedom. Capitalism is about as free as Lodamun. |

Message | Capitalist argument that economic model = democracy is that people are free to make money. They are free in so far as they are able to curtail the economic freedom of those less fortunate. Communist argument that Capitalist freedom is flawed is that it allows some to benefit by exploitation of others. Communism deems that people are free to accumulate wealth through their own labour. Hardly a totalitarian position. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
