| Whereas despite regulation, prostitutes are still subject to violence and an increased risk of STIs; Whereas slavery is banned under Malivian law; While the ULP is concerned with another form of slavery present in Malivia; This bill declares that prostitution is a form of sexual slavery and should be banned. No citizen of Malivia should be forced into prostitution, and international trafficking of prostitutes shall be outlawed so that citizens of other nations will also be free from this form of oppression. Although clients and managers of prostitution operations will be punished, prostitutes may not be sentenced to prison, and only a police warning may be given on the first offence. |

| Message | I don't think that harsh punishments for prostitutes would really be necessary, but punishments for pimping and clients of prostitutes would be necessary. What about police warning for first offence of prostitution, and other punishments case-by-case? Running prostitution rings should be punished by prison and users of prostitutes...community service or warnings? |

| Message | Even giving sex workers a criminal record, with the stigma that goes with that, is too much. We feel it would be more appropriate to remove prostitution's official status - the law concerns the right to prostitute oneself, not the right to pay for sex, so we could still punish clients. |
