Message | Voting against this, it's a slippery slope from monitoring what children do online towards monitoring what anyone does. |

Message | We find ourselves in agreement with the LPP on this issue. We would only support investigation of Internet activities where a reasonable case for investigating an alleged crime existed, which is how I originally read the bill. However, the description seem to indicate that this would be used as a tool for censorship. If parents wish to stop their children viewing sites they deem unsuitable, there are programs available to assist them. |

Message | We will vote against this, for a second time. |
Date | 17:56:14, August 25, 2005 CET | From | Conservative Coalition of Egelion | To | Debating the Internet Regulation Act |
Message | The problem is not so much as kids stumbling into these sites, but it is targeted at protecting children who have been exploited as part of child pornography. Yes there are programs that help in keeping children from viewing these sites, but are there software programs aimed at protecting exploited children? The proposed law states that the police will conduct investigations concerning illegal activities. Is it acceptable to let criminal acitivites to take place on the internet while we don't allow it in the "real world"? |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
