Message | Opposed. If some folks have a kid of 15, and they bought a movie 16+, if they judge he's mature enough to watch, then why not. Also, this proposal is completely unenforcable. What you gonna do? Send in police teams to storm into people's houses to permanently control who's watching television. |
Date | 13:45:43, November 18, 2007 CET | From | Tuatha Dé Danann | To | Debating the Movie Rating Reform Act |
Message | I move to have the people caught watching illegal television sentenced to jail and accused with a capital crime! Illegal watching of television is just a no can do! And now back to real life, our power does not yet stretch far enough to be able to control every house. |

Message | All this does is set standards. No one will be arrested GLDS. This is no different that what is done in real life where every movie pretty much has a rating. Same with video games. I've seen a couple of R rated movies before I was 18 and yet...never arrested. That is all this is. Nothing more and nothing less. Hell even TV shows have ratings these days. |

Message | So essentially you are proposing a law that you intend not to be enforced. Does that not sound ridiculous to you? |

Message | Um JUP? This only mandates ratings for TV shows and movies both at the movie theaters and on the TV. Nowhere in this bill does it say that people are arrested! Learn English. |

Message | Nowhere did we suggest people would be arrested. We would not be surprised if your party proposed that though. If you thought about what you proposed, you would realise that this law would criminalise anything falling short of the standards (which are "TBD" - they really should be determined before putting this to a vote). Criminalising this would require a punishment, most likely in fines. This is much further than just ratings. If your party intends simply ratings, perhaps your proposal should reflect that instead. |

Message | We would be surprised if we did. In order for something to be criminalized, there would have to be some sort of punishment. As there is no punishment, there is no criminalization involved in this bill. now if we are done with reading comprehension... |

Message | I never suggested anyone would be arrested, I only stated in contrast with cinemas it's uncontrollable and unforcable. |
Date | 13:37:32, November 21, 2007 CET | From | Rightist Party | To | Debating the Movie Rating Reform Act |
Message | Actually...you be surprised on how easy it is to get into a movie you are not supposed to. |
Date | 13:38:24, November 21, 2007 CET | From | Rightist Party | To | Debating the Movie Rating Reform Act |
Message | TV has better control over that than most movie theaters. I see people do not care about ratings and will gladly let their 5 yo see an R rated movie with nudity and sex in it. Well done. I knew the morals were lax in here but not this lax. |

Message | I dunno how your local tv channels plan their programmation, but movies with nudity in them generally air waaaaaaaaaay beyond the bedtime of a 5 year old. |
