Message | Why replace eco-friendly cars with eco-unfriendly ones? This makes no sense. |

Message | Drang, you have MISREAD the bill. It does absolutely no such thing. Rather, it simply says that the indvidual citizen has the FREEDOM to CHOOSE (like a woman has for an abortion....haha) to drive a gas-guzzling SUV . Nevertheless, this bill gives TAX CREDITS and economic incentives to motorists so that they can FREELY choose to buy the eco-friendly cars. Think about it: if you are a poor motorist, and a gas-guzzling SUV costs TWICE the price b/c the electric car is subsidized, wouldn't the LOGICAL choice be to buy the eco-friendly car and get the tax credit??? Therefore, this bill is simply an extension of LIKATONIAN FREEDOM!!! |

Message | We don't suppose that there is anywhere a Likatonian whose live depends on whether or not they are allowed to drive a gas-guzzler, unlike any woman whose life might be turned upside-down and inside-out by a disruptive pregnancy. |

Message | So - you're giving people the chance to do exactly what we said? So... we misread nothing. Why replace the eco-friendly with the carbon-spewing monster? |

Message | No, it is not exact what you said b/c the bill gives ECONOMIC incentives to citizens to drive eco-friendly cars. cf. http://www.storyarts.org/library/aesops/stories/north.html Morale: PERSUASION is better than Force!!! |

Message | No. It isn't. Because people don't always respond to persuasion. And that's where the dreamland version of economy that the CWFP espouses falls down. People are selfish. |

Message | Exactly. People are selfish, so if it is in their best economic interests to behave in a way, they will do so. If that were not so, there would be no bribery, and we know that is not the case (nudge nudge wink wink). |
