|Its high time Aloria moved from being a technologically backward nation, currently we allow no atomic research, why?|
I know when everyone thinks of the nuclear issue they imagine bombs! This is not the case, we should be developing atomic capability's not for war but for peace, nuclear technology has amazing benifits that could greatly increase the quality of life and production capabilities of our state.
Firstly we could have a nuclear power program, we cannot run off fossil fuels forever, second the isotopes produced by the reactors could greatly help medical and other scientific research, also the technology used to control the reactors and build them would trickle down to benifit everyone! Finally and most importantly fission research leads to fusion research, which if developed would solve all of Alorias future power issues and bring a revolution in the way our planet is managed.
Of cause we must never use this technology to destroy, nuclear weapons should STILL be unconditionally BANNED from warfare!
Old value:: The nation shall never develop, produce or store nuclear weaponry.
Current: The nation reserves the right to develop, produce and store nuclear arms. [For suggested guidelines, see http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7077 ]
Proposed: The nation shall never produce or store nuclear weaponry for military purposes. Research and development of the technology is permitted.
