Bill: Limitation of Proposals Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ducal Delegation

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2102

Description[?]:

How about limiting the number of proposals each party can put forward each year? This will:

a) Stop us being flooded with legislation by hyper-active parties.

b) Allow the Grand Council more time to deal with less legislation, but on a more considered basis = less legislation, but better legislation!

MessageWe see this as an attempt to supress the minority, who's only way to flourish to be politically active. There are some parties who truly put out a great deal of worthwhile proposals, and to just disallow this is tyranical, and evidence of an attempt to hold a position of power. We vote no, although unfortunately, our current position within the parliament disallows us from making an impression.
