Details

Submitted by[?]: Kapitalist-Arbeitsfamilien Partei

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2492

Description[?]:

AMENDMENT: This bill is specifically amended to assert that the word "grounded cause" in the Act is to be interpreted as the legal grounds in which a Law Enforcement Officer is OBLIGATED to present a WARRENT signed by a Judge of the Likatonian Court before information of privacy can be unsealed. In a nutshell, if a police officer cannot get a Warrent signed by a Judge, then he/she CANNOT unseal the people's records of privacy.

MessageWhat sort of grounded cause are we looking for? To double-check individuals aren't co-ordinating sympathy strikes - something the CWFP would also have banned?

NO, "grounded cause" refers to a WARRANT signed by a Judge of the court that is INDEPENDENT of the political system. If a police officer cannot forward a warrant, then the "criminal" goes FREE!!!

MessageYes... and on which grounds will these warrants be authorised? The CWFP are patent masters in avoiding the point, question, and reason.

DWP, well the warrant will be authorized on ANY activitivity deemed "illegal" by the members of the Convocation and local governments.

That means, if the the democratically-elected representatives of the PEOPLE deem sympathy strikes LEGAL and commercial uses of the Flag ILLEGAL, then Warrants will be issued to corporations that use the flag for commercial purposes.

MessageWe believe the CWFP completely avoided really dealing with the why's and wherefore's.. but we'll support anyway.

Simply put - there is no good reason why a letter - which could be admissible, even incriminating, evidence - should be held to a different standard to other evidences.

Drang, I answered the DWP's concern pretty CLEAR!!! Warrants will issue on ANY activitity that is deemed criminal by the Convocation. So, that is yes, if the Convocation votes to make sympathy strikes illegal, then warrents will be issued. If the Convocation votes to make commercial uses of the flag illegal, warrants will issue.

Dear Void890123:

Hello, thank you for your video response. However, I believe that you are sadly mistaken if you are asserting that it is "unprofessional" to use capital letters to emphasize or stress a point (or word).

However, I am fully aware of the fact that the "Academic Elites" frown on the usage of using capital letters as it is--in their view--"yelling" at the audience. Nevertheless, this is further from the truth.

Case in point: have you ***ever*** read any of the most important scholarly works in world history such as "The Federalist Papers" written by Alexander Hamilton & James Madison as well as the pamphlet "Common Sense" written by Thomas Paine??? They used capital letters--[the proverbial "CAPS"]--***all the time*** to stress certain points and words.

The fact of the matter is that the usage of capital letters simply help the writer to compensate for the "perks" that are at the ***natural disposal*** of non-verbal communication. For example, if you are making a speech before a crowd or on YouTube(haha), you have the asset of utilizing body language to stress certain points and/or to ***slightly*** raise the octave of your voice volume to narrow the audience's attention span that you do not, unfortunately, have in written communication.

While in certain circumstances, people intently use capital letters to (literally) "scream" at the reader to express their emotions, it is perfectly possible to use the letters in a ***respectable***, ***proportional***, and efficient manner so as to calm the tone that the audience senses as he/she reads the article. Thank you and take care.

best,
Christian Savage

P.S.: I agree with the gentleman that posted the below that says it is ***better*** to use italics and bold formatting to stress points rather than "caps." Thanks again.

MessageOOC: Chris, I agree that CAPS can be used, but it is everything to be effiective, and your use is excessive, to the point at which when you use CAPS, they serve no purpose other than to annoy the reader. Overuse merely deflates the currency.

As an aside, if you are using YouTube (or MySpace, or MSN chat, or anything to do with AOL) as your grammar tutor, this could be a tricky concept.

That explains a lot...

Drang, regardless of your personal position on "The Federalist Papers," OBJECTIVELY speaking, they are irrefutably one of the most scholarly works in world history b/c they (literally) CHANGED history. The United States Constitution was the FIRST experiment of Representative Democracy since the Roman Republic.

For example, I DESPISE Adolf Hitler, but I nonetheless acknowledge the historicity of the book, "Meinkampf"

MessageOOCD: How Ameri-centric. The literally changed the history... of one lump of rock. They changed it less than the previous butchery and syphillisation of the natives had done. The Federalist Papers are a footnote on the history of a colection of provincial backwaters that lacked any eminence on the worldstage at that point. You might better be served citing danegeld or the Acts of Enclosure as historically important moments.

The very fact that YOU know what are the "Federalist Papers" and "Common Sense" and I do NOT know what the "Danegeld" or the "Acts of Enclosure" are, proves in and of itself that those are not historically important moments (haha).
