Message | Against both articles. Schools should be a matter for the Federal Government, and surely you don't want any sect to be able to open a school? |

Message | Against both articles. Charter schools are unnecessary, and the second article allows dangerous sects to open schools, or just a private citizen masquerading as his or her own religion. |

Message | You bring up the fact that dangerous sects could open up schools and teach radical and dangerous ideologies. This would be highly unlikely considering that schools will still be strictly regulated by the federal government as they are now. The only thing that this bill does concerning Article II that is different from now is that the federal government doesn't show favouritism towards certain religions. A school that is teaching a radical, dangerous, or anti-Rutanian curiculum can still be closed down by the orders of the government or forced to change their teaching habits. Right now the current law shows favouritism towards certain religions that can be mandated by the government to have religious schools. What this changes is that all religions can open up schools but they will still be strictly monitored so that if a dangerous sect opens up a school it can still be closed immediately for not living up to the regulations put forward by the federal government. On the first article you may be against charter schools, period, but this is not really affirming the use of charter schools. All it is doing is puting it into the hands of the state governments so that if Delvar wants to try charter schools in addition to the current system it may while every other state has a right not to put up charter schools. This will take some of the burden for education off of the backs of the federal government and give it to the people who can more easily micro-manage the educational system to the needs of the people and their state, the state and local governments. A charter school may never be set up in Rutania, however, I believe that this will set a precedent for the states to take a larger role in future educational plans. |
