Bill: Creating a private sphere for private sphere stuff

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hobrazian Peoples Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2493

Description[?]:

We should not allow anyone to have sexual intercourse in public. Sex is private and should be reserved for those willing to participate in the act. We should not allow perverted people to include anyone on a sunday stroll in their actions. Think also of all the children that can be harmed by sights of grownups having sex everywhere and at anytime.

That people has the freedom to dress as they wan't or not, is accepted by the HPP, but to accept public nudity is sick. We have to protect peoples choice to dress or not, but furthermore the large majority who is not interested in it should be protected from such exposure. Think of our children and others who is not interested in walking around with nudes around them. When operating in the public sphere the public interest must come before personal interests and therefore we should install certain colonies and beaches to where such interested people can turn. We apply this argument to the situation of sexual intercourse in public to.

MessageWe cannot accept this bill as it violates the rights of the people. Also most people would perceive public nudity as normal and thus would not be offended.

MessageWell, we believe it will twist the minds of our children who will grow up with a lack of morals. Should they unwilling experience a sexual intercourse at the main square or in their playground? We believe the CPoH should rethink their stance on this and protect the children from obscenity.

MessageWe will vote against this act. There is no such thing as "obscenity"--obscenity is created by the preventing people from viewing things and telling them such things are "bad". We have no right to press our morals on our citizens. If parents do not want their children to see certain things, they can take actions to stop their children from seeing them.

If they unwillingly experience sexual intercourse, which is highly unlikely, the charge is called "rape" and the rapist will be put in jail for a long, long time.

MessageIf they unwillingly watch sexual intercourse, would be a better choice of word then.

"If parents do not want their children to see certain things, they can take actions to stop their children from seeing them."
- How? What if it happens while the kindergarten is at the playground in the park?
- If enjoying your coffee at the Brentaro Main Square and suddenly a couple jumps around the corner and start having sex? Wouldn't that interfere with your expectations?

We are not saying that sex is bad. We just state that it belongs in the private between two or more people. We have no intention to forbid sexual intercourse in private and behind closed door. We only advocate to think larger and view the society as a whole instead of protecting individual rights when it is clear that it is stupid.

We awaits still the view of the WSS!P who recently said that the protection of the whole counts for more than individual rights. We hope they intend to keep their word. ;-)

MessageIf I'm enjoying my coffee and a couple jumps around the corner and starts having sex, why should I care? Unless they engage in sexual acts including defecation or urination, which are criminal as they are public health hazards, there is no reason for me to care. Sex is not disgusting, it is a fact.

If sex happens in view of kindergarteners at a playground, so what? It probably happens all the time, and nobody complains. The parents can respectfully ask the couple to go away--although that might make for an uncomfortable conversation--or they can simply ignore the couple. The kids can ask what happened later, and the parents can explain.

It is clear to me that sex in public harms nobody. How does it harm? Preventing sex in public does not protect the whole, because sex in public does not harm the whole. We only advocate that you not play on the phobias of the vocal minority, and instead focus on the real matters facing Hobrazia. This is a incredible non-issue on par with gay marriage and abortion.

MessageWe rest our case, you have obviously destroyed your own seriousness with these silly arguments. We can only hope that the rest of the parties still have a little sense of logic and cultivation.

- Indeed we do intend to keep our word.
In regards this bill, moral standards for the majority are made by the majority. As the majority of our people have been brought up in a situation that allows public nudity and lack of laws designating obscenity it is highly likely that the majority have no qualms with the events that happen day-by-day throughout their lives. In fact, due to the very nature of these laws actually means that things that our right honourable colleagues in the HPP are so concerned about occur with far less frequency than might otherwise occur should we attempt to regulate these acts.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.
