Bill: A call to arms!
Details
Submitted by[?]: Progressive Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2493
Description[?]:
"You can't be serious!" the voice of a party official could be heard in the halls of the ministry of defence. "I can and I am!" Patton replied, anger in his voice. 'We cannot stand idle whilst we are threatened. And you know that the party has to support me!" It was utterly crazy but they knew that they had to support him. This bill was entirely against the beliefs of many, but they had no choice, they knew that if they refused support they would be pinpointed as cowards and anti-nationalists. It did not help any that the tides of politics in Lourenne were unfriendly. Proposal: In light of the recent threaths brought to us by a foreign nation, we propose an increased state of mobilization in our nation! (((OOC: A bit of RPing, things are not exactly right in the Progressive Party at the moment, as you can see.))) |

Message | The OGP will not now nor will we ever support this. Furthermore, the Delterian Federation is no longer under dictatorial rule. They are no threat to us. If we have a massive weapons build up, it would spark similar undertakings in the rest of Dovani. We must not let this happen. Sen. Cornelius C Hampton |

Message | I have recently discovered that the prezident of Delteria is no longer an active member of society, and the Strana Strachu a Korupcie (the Fear and Corruption Party) may be planning another coup. At present they only hold 4% of the seats in the Duma. It is time for Lourenne to have an active Foreign Minister. We cannot keep guessing about these matters. However, we will still not support this, especially not article 3. We would support article 4 (nukes). Senators Cornelius C. Hampton and Castanier de Villement |

Message | Hail Patton! We can not and will not simply stand by while opposing countries are a threat to us. By arming ourselves to the teeth we will be able to deter these warmonger and defend our nation if war does break out. We will support this bill and advise all other parties that care for the future and independence of Lourenne to do the same! |

Message | we will not support the development of terror weapons such as Biological or Chemical weapons nor will we support a first strike doctrine when it comes to nuclear weapons we will however support a significant raise in funds for conventional arms and training for our soldiers. with a retaliatory capability through nuclear weapons we can guarantee that ABC weapons won't be used against us, so all we need to secure our borders are a strong conventional military with the huge orders we will put in for weaponry to make this grand army we do not need to subsidize the weapons industry we need tanks and guns not uncontrollable diseases or chemical reagents that have no effect on the enemy's ability to fight... smart bombs not terror weapons |
